Applications
NYCELLI is now accepting applications for the 2024 class.
The 2024 class will begin on Thursday, February 15th, 2024, and will meet virtually on Thursday evenings through April 18th. We anticipate awarding between 10-15 CLE credits during the term. Applications, in a single PDF, consisting of a resume, a list of three professional references, and a one- or two-page statement describing the applicant’s interest in joining NYCELLI and commitment to environmental law are due by Monday, December 18th to nicoleabene@nycelli.org
One of the great things about NYCELLI is the relationships it builds between participants. Classes have been virtual since 2020, but we also have several in-person events throughout the year, including class happy hours, environmental tours, and a graduation reception for last year’s class.
Selection Criteria
NYCELLI is committed to an open application process and to choosing a diverse class from a variety of practice sectors (private, government, and non-profit). All applications are reviewed by the Director and members of the Board of Advisors, and up to 15 participants will be accepted each year.
Participants must have either taken a survey course in environmental law during law school, have experience working in the field of environmental law, or otherwise have a demonstrated interest in environmental law.
Participants must have graduated from law school within the last seven years, except that more experienced applicants will be considered if they have recently switched to environmental practice.
Tuition
The tuition for the program is $675 for private attorneys, $550 for government attorneys, and $425 for non-profit attorneys. Tuition is often covered by the participant’s employer as a professional development activity and for the 10-15 CLE credits. A hardship subsidy or other financial aid is available to admitted students upon request to ensure that no participant is excluded for inability to pay.
